Default Where to buy LED's ??

I'm wanting to upgrade some normal krypton torch bulbs to high output LED's..

The ones like this;

It's for some Bike lights and a Maglite.. (both 6v).

Anyone got any ideas where I can get them from.. I can only find the std Mag upgrade pack, but they are the best part of 20quid a bulb, and I need three.. sure they are available alot cheaper than that somewhere ?

I just got a load from here: Ultra Bright Leds and Led products at bargain prices with super fast delivery - by Ultra Leds U.K

Can't fault them, fast delivery and decent products.

I'd get new lights - they come on in leaps and bounds recently.
Obscene bargain is the Tesco 3W Cree torch - £10 and brighter than any Maglite - in fact almost enough for a bike light. Or the Ultra-fire torches from the US:

DealExtreme: Search for ultrafire torch (198 products in 29 categories)

Yep - most of those prices are delivered!!

And for bike lights - I recently got a Hope 1 Vision LED one. £80 and super super bright. Spend £200+ and you get a light that rivals or even beats a car headlight. All with modern LED technology so very easy on battery power.

Saw the thread on BikeRader about the Tesco torches.. thats what got me thinking !

But at 80quid for the Hope setup - I would sooner go down that route !!

Cheers, Alex..

2000 - I have the Hope 1 LED and really rate it. 240 lumens of proper bike specific light (not narrow beamed torchlight) and you can always back it up with a Tesco Cree helmet mount too (I have) - covers all ranges then.

Shout if you need any help on the Hope - did my research and it's the best, most durable and portable bike light for the money by far - and it takes AA batteries. Get a half decent charger ( Battery Logic UK - Technoline BL-700 intelligent LCD battery charger is superb - I love it!) and batteries ( Ansmann AA NiMH 2850mAh Pack of 4 at Battery Force are the best you can buy) and you have a very long lasting and versatile light that's very well made.

Sorry. I am literally a total bore on every subject except football. Or Golf.

I have an mte ssc p7 c bin torch, it's actually comparable to the more expensive lupine lights, two of them would easily beat one and at £22 per torch it's not to be sniffed at.

I ran that p7 alongside an ultrafire c1 for a helmet light and tbh i could put the p7 into low power and that combined with the c1 was still enough for most things.

DealExtreme: $19.99 Ultrafire C1 Q5-WC 230-Lumen LED Flashlight with Clip (2*CR123A/1*18650)

Just use decent protected li-ion 18650 batteries and you won't go far wrong.

DealExtreme: $39.96 MTE SSC P7 C-Bin 900-Lumen 2-Mode LED Flashlight (1*18650)

DealExtreme: $10.00 TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2500mAh 2-Pack Blue)

Last comment made me laugh.. probably applicable to most mountain bikers, just doesn't seem to mix with football does it ?..

I have been looking at the old style Hope twin spot stem mounted lights.. I had always discounted them in the past due to the RRP, but 2nd hand they are alot better buy !

Will have another look at the 1 LED..
