Refitting cove moulding in the kitchen while the wife is away for a fortnight, and am going to repaint.
What's a decent modern kitchen colour?
Cupboards are medium oak, floor is light brown tile.
The walls ARE "oatfield" a sort of mushroom pale pinkish-brown, but I'd like something different.
Kitchen is north facing, but has windows facing east too. It's around 8m by 2.4 m

Brilliant white ceiling and coving. Consider painting walls and or alcoves a different, highlight colour. Are there working areas of the kitchen that get bashed more than others? Have you got a glazed or semi-glazed interior door through into the kitchen?

I like the 1829 range of paints, very good quality if a little pricey, but may not be suitable for a modern house.
Dulux or Crown do a range called "feature wall" I think which has some interesting colours that you can use for accents.
I tend to do ceilings in magnolia with white coving as it makes the coving stand out the ceiling seem higher.
