If you found a mobile phone in the street would you:
a) Keep it/sell it
b) Look through it, ring one of the numbers to find out who it belongs to and return it to the owner
The reason I ask is that I was speaking to someone today about it and their answer and logic suprised me

I'd defo hand it in. I've got this what goes around comes around kind of thinking going on, so, seeing as I've had stuff returned to me in the past that I would never have expected to get back, I think it's only fair to do my bit in return.

I'm another believer in the "what goes around comes around" karma.
Hand it in all the time.
I was waiting outside the bank the other day for the wife to come out, and 2 guys were using the ATM's (2 ATMS side by side). 1 guy walked off leaving his money hanging out of the machine. The guy next to him then finished and spotted the money in the machine and called the 1st guy back (who was a good 50 feet away by then).
Was nice to see that there are still some decent people around!

Deffo option B).
Found a rather nice phone on a train and handed it in to staff.
Also chased after another bloke who had left his Blackberry in a bar.
I've also had a phone I mislaid handed in to a Vodafone shop.
Looking at the piccies would be my reward for being honest.

B everytime
Karma is a powerful thing, I hope it catches up with the cab driver that said I didn't leave my wallet in his cab in Singapore last week, I called him 2 minutes after I jumped out
, could have been the next punter I suppose.....
Before I left the UK one of my mates found a mobile and it had a couple of vids of possibly the owner enjoying "relations" with his girlfriend and more worryingly there was what appeared to be a snuff movie, I didn't want to see it myself but was told it contained a young arabian girl dancing for some men before they set about kicking the life out of her before finally dropping a large rock on her head !, the guys that did see it said it seemed very real, we suggested he hand it in to the police. Why do people have this sort of **** on their phones, beggars belief.

Always option B, I would hope that someone would do the same for me ![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I found a camera on the street whilst in Greece years ago. It was pre-digital and had a partially used film in it so my sister and I took it to a chemist, had the film developed then set about trying to identify the people in the pics as we wandered around the resort in an attempt to reunite it with its owners. Unfortunately we didn't see them and had no idea who to hand it in to so we took it home with us in the end.

I have only found a phone once. I called some of the numbers and it turned out that it belonged to a hooker. Not a high-class Escort type, but a skinny, ripped tights, standing around down the harbour type. The number I called was one of her mates, another ho, and she arranged for us to meet in town to hand it over, which I did.

Always B for me. I'd hope someone would do the same for me, so I have to try for them (if that makes ANY sense)
As said above, finding something and keeping it makes you a thief. You are taking something that belongs to someone else, not you.

heres a quick story,
i once left my laptop bag in a black cab on a beer fest in the city....
it wasn't till about 15 mins after i left said cab that i realised !!!
anyway my phone, car keys, door keys, laptop, Brand new PDA, etc were all in there. (basically my entire life)
luckily i had a mates business card in a card wallet and the cabbie phoned him up. my mate had no way of getting hold of me, so he told the cabbie to deliver it to one of my clients offices.
the next day i met the cabbie at the office and gave him a £20 for his honesty (yes it should have been more but i was skint at the time)
ps: i never used dodgy minicabs after that either!!!
so now if i find things, i try as hard as i can to find the owner, irrelevant of value. as they say, what goes around comes around![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Found one at T in the park and just waited for it to ring. Met the kid and handed it over. What's the point in keeping it if it can be rendered unusable? Besides it just makes you a skank.

B. You will feel so much better.
My daughter lost her new phone, it was brand new last Xmas - despite us all going looking for it in the Car Park where it was dropped and posting a sign up asking for it back, nothing happened. She was distraught and you shouldn't do that to another human being IMO.

Is there any way of finding out who the 4 thieves that voted on this poll are?
(apart from the semi-feral 'mate')
