Back in Glasgow and worshipped for putting England out but I really wish they would show the 2nd goal on TV, THAT was brilliant. Easily in my top three of all time but a real shame the first on gets all the press.
(I don't agree with worshipping him for the first goal but I'd lick his boots over the second)

As a Scot I have to say that despite what the media may portray, he is not "worshipped" in Scotland.
Yes, there are a minority who take pleasure in his part in removing England from whatever world cup it was all those years ago, but it just that - the minority.
Incidenatlly, the SFA can't give away tickets for the Scotland/Argenitina friendly - that speaks volumes.
So, before you all start with your Scotland bashing, lets get a few things clear:
I can sympathise with those who are happy to see any team dump the English football team fom the world cup for reasons discussed to death on here, and due, in entirity, to the English media's attitude to such competition which gets forced upon Scotland via the BBC whether we like it or not.
However:
Argentina would probably have beaten England anyway - they were the better team.
Maradonna is not "Worshipped by the Scots", many of whom wouldn't even know who he is. He is worshipped by a small minority. One of whom has now joined this thread ..lol...

The Scots take delight in any time England go down - Scots, Irish, Welsh understand it, English don't but that's not the point I was making, more a footballing point.
The second goal was absolutely brilliant and it's such a shame it's been tainted by the first one and is hardly ever talked about. It was fantastic and should be shown at every opportunity.
Footballers cheat, this particular event was on a bigger stage with greater consequences than most and he got caught.
(In 1986, he won more Player of The Year awards from Scottish club supporters clubs than any one else )

Sportsmen cheat, get over it. However much it sticks in the throat. The Jocks and the Englsih bait each other all the time. Part of the fun as I see it.
With regards to Butcher. He should shut the *** up. He's always been a tw@t and remains one. The fact he's going on about this now when he's employed by the Scots shows him up for the tosser he is.

Tevez reminds me of those hunting horse threads for some reason .
Maradona was a legend and I agree with the OP - His actual goal during that match was a piece of pure footie magic

2023: "Are you Scotland in disguise?" sing the vastly over-confident England fans to their German counterparts.
