Christmas Presents - How much will you spend?
As per title.
Chez Jordan - I am hoping for Earforce XLS Xbox 360 Headset (£45) and that's it for my stocking.
The wife / daughter want, in no particular order
1. Norwegian Fjjords Cruise
2. Champneys Henlow Grange Weekend
3. 3 week Australia Holiday
4. Chanel Perfume
5. Jersey Boys CD
6. Beeswax Candles
7. Laptop
8. My bollocks in a frikking sling
Christ on a bike - It's like the CRUNCH ain't happened here.
I'll post up what the presents ACTUALLY were, after Xmas has finished.
I love Christmas, me.

was having a conversation with the missus the other day
was going to try and keep some control on spending this year
have 5 kids -- but was budgeting on about £100 per child
but thats it -- I get nothing nor does the wife
xmass is basically for kids innit

I've spent:
£12 on my dad.
£3 on my mum (I still don't know what she really wants)
£12 on my sister-in-law
£3.49 on my baby female cousins
£3.49 on my baby male cousin
£35 on my brother
£5 on the girl I love
£15 on the missus
£loads on making sure the above two don't find out about each other.

I'm "fortunate" that my birthday is also relatively close to Chrimbo, so I try to combine mine - it's just easier (helps the wife out when she has to say "thanks" for me!!LOL! )
However, tbh, I've got pretty much everything I can afford. The other things I would like, even if my entire family saved for years, I still couldn't have!!lol!!
I prefer gifts that make me laugh etc.
SO, it's now I buy stuff for the kids (major limit otherwise they're spoilt), and a gift or two for the wife
I'm lucky that I get to do all sorts of stuff outside of my job that pay pretty well (all things considered!), so I'll always spend it on the wife and kids rather than myself.
But no, I don't subscribe to this excessive spending lark - just proves that some people have more money than sense and are very materialistic (IMHO )

This year me and Nat have decided on the followings...
£5 for her mum/dad (not bought yet)
£2.50 selection box for her sister
Her brother gets nowt as he's a ****
£5 for her grandma/grandfather (dads side)
£5 for her grandma (mums side)
£2.50 selection box for my brother
And my mum wants some weird canvas piece doing, so the cost of a blank canvas.
Doubt we will buy each other anything, maybe next year though

usually approx 25quid per family member (brother+ his kids/sister,parents) etc etc
me and the missus, well we usually try to set a limit of say 100quid each, but it always tends to spiral into a "who spent the most cash competition"
to be honest its a pita as i cant be arsed to do any shopping, but always have to go and buy something else when i see another present on the pipe with my name on it
i don't actually want anything for christmas, apart from maybe a few xbox games

I will buy for my wife, mother, father and his wife.
I have given my wife £600 and instructions not to bother me until Boxing Day.
All the food and drink, all presents not purchased by me and anything remotely related to xmas.
Its something we've done of the last 4 years and works pretty well.

I tend to buy stuff myself when I need it so not much on my own list.
First Christmas with a child but he'll only be three months old so it won't be too expensive yet!
Mrs Matt has been through heaps this year so deserves something special. Shame I haven't thought of anything yet though!
After we lost our baby on Nov last year and had a rather depressing Xmas, this one is going to feel very special.

I hate buying Christmas Presents. Never know what to get.
Mother? Always spent the most on her. Usually £50-£100
Dad? **** knows. Never wants anything so is impossible to buy for
Sister? £10 in a card
Problem this year now is that I've just started seeing someone. So will have to buy her a few things, plus she has kids, so I'll have to buy them something as well.
Why couldn't I have met her next January?

Have a good Xmas - it is special with a family. We spent our first in SCBU, so our second was especially special. Little 'un, now nearly 5, has still never asked for anything other than food drink and Cbeebies, so we get away fairly lightly!

The missus insisted on hers in September, £140 for some boots, so she can bugger off except for a Chocolate Orange, other than that, just what gets pent out of my account, a grand or so ?
Trying to cut down, not really for the money (though its a positive by product) but so we dont have a house full of crap, we have shelves full of games, you cant get rid because granny x bought it, even though they wont entertain it.
For me, I am allowed to buy myself something with my money, I conceal the true cost usually. Dont really need anything, usually if I want it, I buy it when I decide I need it.
