Smile Blag of the day

Quite a small blag, however, I received today some Thule aero bars from an Ebayer. Unfortunately the bars proved too small for my Pajero due to an inaccurate description in their ad. Given the supplier was miles away and a cost would be incurred for posting back for the larger size (and taken a week) I decided to chance my arm and went off to the local Halfords. Sure enough on the shelf were the Thule bars I needed so I asked an assistant if I could simply swap them over. They scanned it all in and didn't blink when I had no receipt. I walked out with the correct bars and a Halfords receipt.

Any other happy endings today?

Not really a deception, I just said they were the wrong ones and I didn't have a receipt. She never asked me if I got them from Halfords, and I never told her I didn't

So it's ok to steal from Halfords.

Wonder if you would feel the same if someone helped themselves to parts from your car

Didn't steal anything, both parts cost the same and unused. I'd have bought it from halfords in the first place if it wasn't double the price

Also I noticed several boxes had been opened, re-taped and put back on the shelf so, technically they were passing off second hand goods as new.

Can't see what parts of my car has anything to do with it As I've said above I just told them that I wanted to swap it, I didn't say I bought it from them and they never asked

Wife bought a hideous chrome & wood spotlight bar fitting from B&Q for when we were refitting the kitchen, it was reduced to £10 so she thuoght it was worth a punt. It didnt get used (thank ****) as I fitted downlighters.
Around a year later I was having a clear out and found the original light fitting still sealed in its box and chucked it into the boot for when I was next passing B&Q thinking I'd see if they'd give me a credit note for it.
Eventually I called into B&Q and took it to customer services explaining it wasn't needed but I didnt have the receipt. No problem I can give you a credit note for it,says the girl, and she scans it, takes my details and prints me off a credit note. After thanking her and walking off I glance at the credit note wondering what to spend a tenner on when I see the credit note is for £59.99!!!!

Result or what
