Wife went to Woolies this morning.....nothing much electrical at all apart from the odd toaster and kettle.
Came away with a pile of cheap kids clothes (school)

Heartless scrubbers! Moaning because they haven't profited enough off people losing their jobs at Christmas.
By all means bag a bargain they need people to shop there but don't complain becuase they aren't actually giving stuff away.

Did i ***** buy 50 - in the end i never bothered, i heard it was absolute mayhem in Oldham, people fighting over saving a bit of cash. I like a bargain but am not going to get into a trolly rage incident, especially with the agressive beer swilling oaps in Oldham, i like life thank you

I dont do sales, my mum moans about the Next one every year, people farting with inpunity in a rich Christmas style, getting jostled by Asian women frantically grabbing armfuls of gear, probably for on the market store and other general mayhem, to buy stuff you werent going to buy anyway, I tend to go when its going to be deathly quiet, get what I want and come home. In fact I avoid shops most of the time, I dont like being coughed on, sneezed on and being offended by some of the horrific sights and behaviour, sales are just the normal horror with the volume, contrast, colour and brightness turned right up.
Part of me thinks, cool, a 30 GB MP3 player for £23, then I think, I have a 40GB player, a phone with 8gb that does music and drawerfuls of old mp3 players and Ipods, having one isnt the issue, its remembering to charge it, put music on it and take it with me.
Shopping is a means to an end, it should start with a need or want, not a general idea that you may get something for less money. I can honestly say, there is nothing I would need from Woolies Closing Down Sale that I cant defer until I need it, nothing that would make me run the gauntlet of Pikeys fighting over an almost bare shelf, funny how they all get a burst of enthusiasm to shop at Woolies now its almost gone.

I'll be getting 100% off of anything in the Wollies 'sale' by simply not going to it. With all the static charges being stored up by all those bargain hunters with plastic shoes and coats I wouldn't want to run the risk of being electrocuted should one stagger into me with a box full of tat

I had a look in Big Ws yesterday and found the atmosphere was like a church jumble sale. Very tatty.
I though there might be the odd pressy for someone i could buy but walked out empty handed and not bothered.

I went to the one in Leeds, as others have said nothing to recommend it, I can see why I haven't been in there for years.
There were people queuing half way down the shop to pay at the tills though
