Wife discovered an old PO savings account book today, but not worth getting excited over, just 50p in it...BUT... it was last up-dated in 1981.
Now before it gets sent off to be brought up to 2009, is there any website that will tell me the interest rates for these accounts between 1981 and now so we can have some idea of its accumulated ""wealth !!!"" ?
Not too sure I would trust the PO accounts dept' totally, so an idea would be helpful.
Cheers

You mean National savings? if its a blue book(ordinary account) the account is obsolete, as those accounts closed a couple of years ago.
The gray books(investment account
)it wont have accumulated that much, but all you need to do is send it back to NS&I in Glasgow and they will add the interest what is due.

I'd check RJ's theory on that one, if i were you... I've still got a little blue savings book with something like a whopping £2.50 in it from about 20 years ago..
and according to the local post office mistress, you can send it off to claim the money in it... I can't remember the exact amount but mine was worth about £2.53 when we checked last year
