Just wondering how/where you lot popped the big question?
Was it romantic ect??

A couple that my girlfriend and i hang around with have just got back from Paris, and my mate got down on one knee and proposed whilst taking an evening boat trip down the river seine

They've come back all loved up, and its got me thinking how i would eventually pop the question (my girlfreind and i have disscussed it, and i think shes well up for it, as weve been going out for a good while) maybe next year ill pluck up the courage

Just wondered if any of you lot wanted to share your experiences?

I was in the bath when I popped the question in 1979.
She'd just had a bath and was ready to go out for the evening.
I gave her an ultimatum, marry me or be pulled into the bath fully clothed.
We're still married, but she takes more showers than baths now!

However, my mate took his bird to Paris, and had the chance to propose anywhere in the most romantic city in the world.

But he got so wound up and fretful about it he ended up doing it in the hotel room about 3 minutes after they arrived.

My ex fiance proposed to me on the dance floor at Garage City, The Coloseum, Vauxhall in '92. How romantic But I still said yes, it seemed like a good idea at the time

When I was travelling in Greece in the summer of '91 I met a bloke who liked me although he wasn't really my type. Anyway a group of us all hung out together for a couple of weeks then one night he took me out for dinner alone, bought me a rose then got down on one knee in the restaurant (a Chinese) and asked me to marry him. I'd only known him for about five minutes It was so embarrassing as everyone was looking and I felt awful saying no When I left the island he cried then went and beat some poor bloke up for no reason, then, when I got home he started stalking me which was nice

I was rather the worse for alcohol at the time, and I'm sure she only said yes to make me stand up, because she was embarrassed at all the taxi full of drunks beeping as they went passed

I did not propose to her.

She got me on a leap year. With a cake iced up with a rather cheesy 'marry me' on top of it. Presented to me blindfolded with her wearing Thigh high leather boots and long black leather gloves combined with some rather fetching grundies.

When i took the blindfold off i was that shocked i said....err....ohh...i don't know what to say.....oh f*ck....go on then.

Sat outside a fried chicken stall in Mexico to an Argentinian bird I met 9 nights previous. Hey, she didnt believe in sex before marriage and I was flying home the next day

She said yes though and got married at 5am some 2 hours later after wandering around looking for a church to crash

Some good ones so far, altho if i did it whilst i was p1ssed she'd never belive in a million years that i was being serious Think ill go down the slightly more romantic path

I did it on the island of Madeira on a warm September night after a lovely meal over looking the ocean with the band playing "Can you feel the love tonight?".

But probably better to say while strolling Thames-side after a lovely evening at the National Theatre. But it was outside macdonalds and I hadn't been to the theatre, only met her outside

The restaurant in the Okura Kobe hotel.

She made a big fuss because I was making a scene, but was gob smacked when I asked her "will you marry me" in Japanese, she said yes. We got a round of applause from everyone in the restaurant!

We'd been talking about getting married for a while & hadn't got round to doing anything about it for a few months.

I was on my motorbike coming up to a roundabout just off the A40 towards Cirencester, doing about 60. The phone rang & it auto-answered & it was the (now) wife.

"I've found a ring!!"
