It's alright, I heard Flash on the news saying that there will be new training schemes to get people trained up and into jobs You know, those millions of job vacancies, the ones that nobody is trained up to do...oh come on you must have seen them, the PM wouldn't just make some sh!te up to make himself look better would he?!

It is 2 million. The Official statistics figure is just over 1 million (i.e those claiming benefit and not working) The 2 million figure is the goverment preffered measure which includes people not claiming benefit.

Because unemployment was much higher under the Tories under better conditions in the 80's.? (Plus of course, the Tories pulled every trick in the book to make the figure appear lower.)
Because Cameron and Osbourne are doing a sterling job is completely allowing a golden opportunity slip right through thier fingers?
It takes a special kind of incompetance to allow the Government off the hook and actually claw back thier share of the vote under these conditions.

Depends on the disability I suspect.
The figure includes all people not working and able to work and either claiming or not claiming.
Now, this will not include single parents with children under 12 (Under 7 from next year) and of course there is a big drive to get people on invalidity benefit and single parents onto job seekers allowance, in which case they will be added to the figures.

Don't you remember that BBC article they ran about that woman who had never worked her entire life?
She wasn't officially classified as unemployed because she claimed family benefit not unemployment benefit.
Factor that in, along with long term disability (which there are plenty of scroungers as well as genuine people) and I reckon you'd be looking at AT LEAST 6 million.

Its just possible that they see no virtue in the usual sad policy of deriding the 'other' partys existance - although there is plenty of room to deride theyre leader, as theyve done
- at the end of the day i cant imagine how any one can lead us out of the sh*te weve been left in by Nu Labia

(ii)As of September, anyone claiming for a child under 12 has to move onto unemployment benefit
(iii)This is reduced to 7 next year
(iv)One woman on the telly does not equate to 6 million unemployed.

I dont think we will be in "hock" for anything near as long as the Tories make out.
As a percentage of GDP (which is the important figure, not the overall sum) we are still below that of borrowing in the 80's. And we came through that didn't we?

FYI, they are building a new power station near us on the banks of the Humber. The work has been subcontracted to an Italian company, who have PUBLICLY stated that they are to bring ALL their workforce from Italy, or the ex-Eastern Bloc
Meanwhile, my lad, a welder/plater by trade, made redundant this week, is STILL looking for work
Please stop with the "home-grown wasters" type comments. OK?
