A complete shot in the dark for some help.
I have a particularly manky engine bay in one of my cars (no comments please Sal or BobT
).
I need to clean the whole bay out, and was going to go for the degreaser and power washer approach, however I'm now a bit concerned that my waste would attract the attention of the Environmental Agency. Seventeen years of accumulated grime and a couple of engines have added a certain patina to the engine bay.
I would take it too a commercial washer, but there is every chance the bloody car wouldn't start again.................ever. (well it's old french and Bob hates the smell of the unburnt fuel it chucks out
, it's tuned i tell thee)
thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about it Rob, I've washed a fair few seriously dirty engine bays over the years and never had any comeback.
Also, if you throw some sand and non-bio soap powder down over your dirty water, most of it tends to convert to an oily sludge which can be shovelled up into a container for safe disposal.
