CoOp has it cheap, I think it's 7.99 a bottle. Better wine for the price IMHO.

I really don't think you can get a good bottle of CNdP, cheaply.
I've tried lots of the cheaper ones and they just weren't that good.

I paid £12 for 2001 and thought I'd got a good deal, I'm sure it won't be too bad though

We visited CdP on holiday and tasted a few wines in the village. Didn't find any that really impressed us given the name. Had more success in Gigondas. Mind you, the Chambre d'Hote we stayed at put us onto a supermarket Cote du Rhone which was 80p a bottle and went down a treat

*I'm sorry, but don't you realise how bloody arrogant you sound? I really couldn't give a shiney ****e what you used to be and no, I don't want to see your CV. I'm not giving you a job, you know

I was just giving my humble opinion.

Just cos my experience doesn't go further than the Dog & Duck in Bognor Regis doesn't mean I know **** all about wine.*

Ok, which CNdP is the best that I could get from a normal supermarket/offy?

Thank god for that, I have five magnums of 2004 in the kitchen, plan on opening them this Christmas.

I'm slowly starting to appreciate good wine.

£19.99 at our off licence!

Must have a nose at Tesco and presume we should make sure it is from one of the years listed above?

You can get nicer Bordeaux wines for less if you know what you're looking for but CndP is a pretty "safe" option, hence it's popularity.

My fave which was on offer at Tesco not long back is Montes Alpha - the Cab Sav variety. Normally about £10 a bottle but is sometimes on offer.

Montes Alpha Cabernet - Tesco Wine Club

Tesco also did the Wolf Blass Presidents Selection half price as well last week which is a bargain IMO.
