My ex GF was mates with Hazel O'Connor through another mate, Billie Webster who was backing singer with Hothouse Flowers (whom we also sort of knew.....ish) and appeared in The Commitments. We also were mates with Doctor & the Medics. Through knowing these I met Bono, The Edge, Van Morrison, Mike Peters (The Alarm), Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Delores O'Riorden (Cranberries) and quite a few others. Haven't seen or spoken to any of them for over 13 years since splitting with her, so not really mates eh ? I met David Jason once, he married my old sales directors sister. And I stole a chip off Eddi Reader (Fairground Attraction) backstage at Finsbury Park. I chatted on here with the fiddle player from Massive Attack just last night too

My dad was bass guitarist for Arrival in the early 70s - two chart hits (one top ten) and Thin Lizzy toured with them - as their support band.
He also played session bass for some big names.

My dad was in the Daltons in the 60's with Jeff beck. Due ot that I ended up working in music for about 10 years, as a result I have a couple of friends that USED to be famous.
The ones I worked with that are still famous dont really hang out with the likes of me and my poor mates.

Pogo appeared in a thread on here a few days ago, he wasnt actually fat, a little chubby but then the goalposts have been moved with regards to fat kids since the early eighties.
Say hi to Pogo, used to work with a bloke called Patterson (til he went to prison) but he did get called Pogo.

I used to play pro-am snooker when I was younger so know quite a lot of the old players. Jimmy white, John Parrot etc For many years I played in the same team as Nigel Bond who was runner up to Stephen Hendry in the 1995 Embassy world championship. I also played Fred Davis, brother to the 15 times world champion Joe Davis, once when I was about 17.

I know what you mean, he makes Steve Davis look flamboyant. Never stopped him becoming a top snooker player though, and if you look at the house he lives in now, 'loads a money' £££££££ He lives near me so I still see him quite often.

I dont know where the little bollocks lives now. I saw him in Matlock about 15 years ago and he blanked me, so he can f*ck off (in fairness though I also worked with him and took the **** mercilessly: "yes, yes, we'll come and watch you when youre famous and on the telly" etc, so Im not surprised).
