Haven't watched it yet. May not bother either...
Who is he anyway?? I've never heard of him. Comes across as a bit of a dick from the couple of minutes I've seen. Probs a great bloke though...

He does come across as a prize ****, doesn't he? I'm finding it hard to find any sympathy for the whole "he was hoping to sell the car for a profit but now he's looking at a £300k loss".
I was looking forward to this but I just can't bring myself to like the guy. He never stops going on about money.

Everyone is spotty on HD
He could have entered his Bubble car and saved the Million Quid
Must have gone to an engine builder with big windows - 300k for a rebuild? You can revbuild an F1 engine for 100k.
That book shop saw him coming too......1k for a book....would have been 50 Euro to the next Italian who came through the door.
Fair play for having a go though and saying to hell with the cost and following his dreams

He was going to have a go at the guy who rebuilt the engine. What? He ragged a new engine and wonders why it died.
He had been planning competing for 3 years so to spend £8k on entry and £12k on life insurance and then have to pull out after 120 miles I guess he had good reason to be gutted. Don't see the car as a loss, just had to do it again another year with the same car.

Have to agree with the earlier post about him coming across as a ***, exactly what I thought. He should have just entered that bubble car thing he had, he watched a similar one finish. Didn't see him buy any dinner for the others?

He's on Saturday morning tv. I personally dont rate him, he comes across quite wooden, very unfunny and not in the same league as Ramsey.
Also, he looks a chubby sod, and I wonder if he was just a normal chef, perhaps in your local eatery, would his lady still be with him ?
What ever the case, spending close to 1Million, I do feel sorry for him as not finishing a boyhood dream must of been painful.
As for birds, his co driver looked a bit rough, but each to their own.
