Default Has anyone travelled America using a camper/RV?

Thought about doing California for a few weeks last night with a couple of mates.

I've been on a few sites inquiring about hiring an RV and they all seem a little confusing with all the small print and insurance - Has anyone got any recommendations to which company to use?

Also a little in the dark about getting the toilet chemicals/fluids changed, fresh water, generator etc etc. If anyones got any tips it'd be gratefully appreciated.

We did indeed but we used a Mustang.

I'm not sure I'd want an RV, they're huuuuuuuge! I think they'd limit, to a degree, where you could go.

Youd need the American equivalent of an HGV licence to drive one too...

We planned on using an RV in Canada, but decided on an SUV and hotels in the end.

Thank **** we did is all I can say. A heap less hassle and infinitely more comfortable for not much more £££. Unless there are 6 of you and you want a BBQ every night?

Not true. Sister in law and her partner did this 2 years ago. She can barely handle an A4 yet got it back in one piece.

Apart from locking them both out in an RV park.
