Save Our British Pubs
Was talking to a Land Lord Yesterday & he explained about this new Beer Tax & the Brewers are thinking of a price increase in Feb!!
WTF???
Anyway he told me about this Site that goes to your MP to try to stop the Beer Tax & more Pubs closing.
After all when it's gone it's gone, (Pubs that is)
Have read & if you agree please sign up. Axe the Beer Tax - Axe the Tax
Your help is apprecated.....
Regards

Oh dear.
Is this websites content an A-level students coursework?
Seems to be like this is more of a Camra / Neil Morrisey (and his dodgy Yorkshire pub) propoganda site...
It's clearly aimed at the masses... Apparantly tax increases on beer are not popular
You can lobby an MP till your fountain pen nib erodes into nothing but a stub, but the reasons for pubs closing over the last 18 months isnt because of a proposed 2009 tax increase?
The government introduces a blanket smoking ban and drives us into a recession and suddenly urban pubs are closing down...
Either way, there is no harm in the masses signing up to this little petition, if it makes folk feel better I like pubs. Pubs are good. I like beer too, but this site is not for me

Sad though.
I thought food sales and families all tripping down to the pub was going to save them.Obviously not.
So, Labours stuffed the pubs, the car industry and the shops.Whats next?

most of the proper pubs have gone round my way, you know the type big corner one car park proper family pub, they were all demolished for flats, i can think of 6 or 7 within a few miles from me, the ones that are left are crap to be honest. i tend to end up down the working mans club now, cheap beer etc.
but its a shame to loose them all times are changing, life is going to be boring as hell in ten years time

On our industrial estate there is a cellar services company that does cellar/pipe and pump maintanance for pubs..
Been established nearly 20 years and had nearly 40 employee's upto 2 years ago..
Now they have 9 and they dont expect to make 2010..
Shame. Labour will see the end of all pubs if they have there way. Landlords have always been greedy, but now its getting bad.
The guys at the celler services company say the freehouse landlords are buying in Stella for £80 per 88 pints...
Selling at £2.75ish..
All in all....the common pub will be finished in a few years, but for the ones that have gone into food in a big way..

In previous depressions the poor could gather in pubs to keep warm.
In the Great Nu Labour Depression Gordon will make sure that option has been removed. People will sit imprisoned within their homes spending their remaining money on extortionate fuel bills while reciting the Red Flag.
