I try not to watch anything with that stick woman in it, too hard to resist shouting "EAT SOMETHING!!" at the screen.

The wife and daughter have gone to see it just 1 hour ago ...... not really my cup of tea, but I'm glad it looks good.

I won't comment as I don't know whether it is or isn't....however what I do know is that my step-daughter and her friend came away from the film wanting to learn more about what actually DID happen. To me, that's a good thing!

Nicole Kidman definately needs to put on some weight but that aside, all of the actors put on sterling performances!

All the critics panned it - so it is probably quite good

WGAF, not like any big budget movie is historically accurate. It's entertainment not a history lesson

Thank god for that I didn't want to offend you
I've read a lot of people have been upset by the film in the same way that people get upset about just about anything these days.

Here is the synopsis from the IMDB website

In northern Australia at the beginning of World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier.
Hardly sounds like a history lesson to me nor does it make me want to rush out and pay £8 to see it.

Anyone else seen it go some views?

What made me laugh was the yanks complaining they couldn't understand it and it should have had sub titles PMSL at the yanks.

How about Deliverence for example !! "You got a purty mouth"

Isn't it funny how this always comes up about films. I dont know anything about the film thats been talked about in this case, but there are many Films that get this sort of reaction. But i think its great, because all you are getting is somebody version of History of events, it should'nt be taken too serious.
