"...the battle that saved Australia...". I wonder if the Australians knew about this? I see that it is very much a 'we saved your asses' fantasy, rather like the original. I dont suppose that we could expect anything else though, because the American public really believe that they saved us and won the war: in the face if that could the producers tell them the truth?
Fortunately BoB was good enough in other ways to allow you to overlook its failings. As soon as you take it out of Europe though, to a place that we dont feel any connection to, itll be too much more of the same....

Given it's produced primarily for the 'merican market. I think I'll ignore the monologue.
Without the Americans generally being a PITA and blowing Japan's merchant fleet to bits, the Japs would have managed to land and support many more troops in New Guinea. The same argument can be made for the island hopping campaigns.

If its half as good as Bob it will be one of the best things you can ever watch.
I've loaned by BoB box sets to mates including some of the least likely people to lie this stuff and all have been blown away by it and said it was compelling viewing
