What were those shoes called that were a big craze in the early/mid 80's ?? Just after original kickers..

They had 2 velcro straps over the front instead of laces.

Its bugging us that we cant remember..

Keds/Rio's...something like that???????

Please put me out of my misery!

My Kio's didnt have straps, they were exactly like the ones below.

I though I looked so cool in them with my Lois jeans, and Fruit of the loom T shirt, and of course the Texas instrument LED watch...ha

What were the Adidas shoes called, they were only available in tan/brown and had a small metal adidas leaf on the side, lace ups....?

the boots had laces yoza but the shoes had straps mate.i had a pair of the adidas shoes in the brown but can't remember what they where called.do you remember "pod" shoes?

I do remember Pod....also Polyvelts, adidas Kick, Mitre Memphis, ForrestHills, TrimTrab, samba, mamba, bamba, College shoes for school with a brass bar across the front, Farah perma press pants, penney round collars, then button down Shermans, cross cords, needle cords, bib&brace, I had it bad..



Still wish I had the watch though......(below).....I swaped it for a Maico 490 alpha1 petrol tank..

I really stuck to my reebok classics even after over 20 years

they gone expensive now only was £45 a pair and now you can’t buy them from sports stores no more they do them crappy other ones

Never hear of Kio's, I thought the description made them sound like GymTrack? Maybe I'm just too old now! lol I'm sure that's what I had at primary school (1980 - 1985)
I think they looked like a retro Adidas but with 2 velcro strips...

acupuncture trainers, all the kiddies in the raves wore them. Probably not what the OP was referring too. But def well known for their Velcro straps. Fly were another one but again prob early 00s than 90s
