Save the UK car industry
Okay, this isn't for me; I'm posting this for a mate who works as a supplier for Landrover and Jaguar. It's another petition for the government, this time to help the ailing car industry.
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/HelpJLR/
I'm not putting it up for a long lengthy debate, but fill your boots if you wish

Save Britain's retail sector.
Save the estate agents.
Save the house builders.
Save the banks.
Save the airlines.
There's only so much to go round.

What a lot of people don't realize is the government dont actually HAVE any money - all they have is MASSIVE debt.
All these bailouts are just paid for by taking on even more debt, which already is going to take decades to repay.
The banks get bailed out, because if they collapse, the system will collapse. Other industries don't have a chance because the UK governemt just cant afford to borrow anymore money, and have all no more assets left to sell.

Why are they not firstly selling the stockpiles off to people and compnaies at knock down prices which will create plenty of money and get rid of all those rotting cars.
Secondly why should 'we' bail out LR especially as the parent company has plenty of money to do it itself, and also if the demand for the product is no longer there you cannot support it as it is uneconomical surely.
I am sorry if it all sounds hard an I don't want to imply I don't care but as a country we get held to ransom by the owners of these companies whenever they want a top up then they put little back...MG being an example.

Save manufacturing full stop. What this government has done to the manufacturing sector is on a par with what Thatcher done to the miners.

These companies have been making plenty of profits for years, why didnt they manage themselves better and not expect us to bail them out,
Ive got a bill I cant pay any chance of a whip round to help me out??? Doesnt work like that does it!
My mate had the right idea, his local council(nottingham) has to shed a load of jobs to save money, he said he would rather pay more per month to keep them in jobs as it has such a knock on effect to him and the area, if they let XXX amount go then that makes finding jobs for everyone a little harder and the service the locals get will drop too.
