Default Why is tv so pants?

Looking through the listings and there is bugger all on. The 2 most entertaining things on tonight appear to be Oceans 12 and American Pie 3.

When I was kid, winter scheduling was the best as they knew everyone was in.

When I was a kid there was only 3 channels available.

Amazingly we could always find something to watch in them days

I was my dads remote control, or else my sister would stand in. A colour tv with an outside aerial was a real top set up!

I now have god knows how many channels and I can nver find anything worth watching I think we have been rather spoiled for choice as they say.

Aye,

Not the same without X Factor and Strictly is it.

Never mind - Casualty is still on. It's always on.

Boxing on ITV4. I hope there's a tear up. The rest of the night is rubbish.

Thinking of ditching all my tv channels. I currently get everything offerd by Virgin, but I find I mostly watch the BBc channels or ch4. The movie channels are especially 5hite.

On the tv right now, Demons, enough said. This really is a very bad and poorly thought out 'vehicle' for the bloke who played the dci hunt character.

Will be nice knowing what I share the woodland with!

It really is pants and it's not very often i actually get to watch a bit of tv,I used to like watching the Discovery channel and stuff, but even that shows naff programmes now.Used to get some good programmes on Geographical too but that's sh1te aswell, infact it's all sh1te.listen cable tv people, don't want to keep watching repeats of palin around the world in 80 days, from like 2 decades ago.that Travel sick on Bravo was good aswell,The extreme sports channel only ever now seems to show skateboarding, snowboarding, bull riding, with a bit of motocross.what's happened to it all, wheres the variety gone,It's like openeing a big tin of chocolates and they all coffee flavour..

Problem is, no matter what rubbish is on...people STILL turn on the TV and watch it.

Now, I'm not sure what the sky boxes across the nation plugged in the phones lines or the cable TV boxes collect in terms of viewing info (they must be able to - shirley!?!?). But I'm sure if they do collect viewing data, it is very differnt to what people want to watch.

Not to forget subscriptions...make a channel subscription based (sky, virgin, top up TV etc). What does the public do? Pay for it! The easy way to sort the problem is to stop paying to watch rubbish on the TV.

Of course, I'm saying this whilst subscribing to TV channels, not that I have a say in the matter; I'm not the one who watches TV these days. Although I somehow find myself paying the bill.

It fills a gap in their worthless lives, and eases the pain.... watching other people doing things in their lieu...

Unfortunately we are all guilty of it to some extent..

HarryHill is good on his Bury programme, however, most of his material comes from soaps and the last few ones have basically been repeats.
