Which mobile phone???
I ignored people last year that warned me against getting a Nokia N95 and have regretted it ever since. What an absolutely awful phone. My contract renews in a few weeks and was wondering which phone(s) people would reccomend.
I like Nokia's just for their ease of use, would like something a bit smaller than the 95. I'd like a decent camera, video, with quite a bit of storage space thats easy for texting and calling people. I'm not after anything majorly flash and it'd have to be a free-upgrade.
I'm on T-Mobile so don't think i can have an I-Phone.
Any advice would be appreciated .

Not sure about a free upgrade on T-Mobile but if you want the very best camera in a mobile phone, 8 or 16GB internal memory and easy to text and call people then the Samsung i8510 is for you. This is an awesome phone and definitely worth looking at. I looked at the N95 and N96 and the i8510 takes some beating, the images from it are astonishing and I say that as someone who knows a bit about photography.

I was going to get a N96 but my mate said its not as good as it should be, normally I wouldnt take a lot of notice but as he owns a large company that supplies Mobiles and PDA's then I think he might have just put me off.

Just to give you an idea of the photo quality from the i8510, this is a pic I took a few seconds ago, all I've done to it is to reduce the size for easier viewing and sharpened it ever so slightly. Having a good camera in the phone was a major selling point to me having been so miserably disappointed with my Viewty. This is, by far, the best phone I've ever owned.

TBH,
if you want full screen video (ie bigger than 640x xxx) then you need to
stick with Nokia.
I picked up an omnia to replace my N95 (sat nav issues)
its a cracking phone & camera, but.
No full frame video at 24fps.
Not sure what the Pixon or Renoir are like though
I,m going to go back to P&G
loads of dosh for things i dont need / use

HTC HD
Got one a few months back, no complaints. Does everything you would want it to, and more.
Get loads of software off the net, free sat nav etc
It is touch screen (and a very nice screen it is too) so might not be your thing if you prefer buttons to click.

The camera on the N95 is better IMO than the N96.
Never had any issues with my N95 (other half now has it), nice and quick to charge, and mine never had issues with the battery running out quickly.
I chose the N96, because of the good experiences I had with the N95, and I don't like the idea of touch screens on a phone, as it would seem too simple to call people without knowing.
As said, my only gripe is that the camera on the N96 doesn't seem as good as the N95, and the video function isn't so clear either.

I've got a n95 8GB and am very disappointed with the battery life, and know of others who are as well. Fortunately is a work phone and insured so it might have to have an accident so that I can get something different, preferably something tht doesnt need charging every day

I can recommend a phone not to get.
The BlackBerry Storm. Despite liking it to start with, I've come to dislike it now - too many irritations and problems. I'm now back using my SE W880i and have a very expensive gadget languishing in a drawer.

Still waiting for mine.... Ordered on 3rd Jan and won't be with me until the 29th as CPW screwed up.
I just need something to put it in as I don't want it rattling around in my pocket

Yep.
What hacks me off is that I had one on order for when the back orders came in and they didn't send me one, so I know have to wait for the next batch
£10 credit for the **** up helps I guess.....

Got a W850i and thinking about this phone.
I was a total Nokia head for about ten years then had two terrible ones in a row - so I gave up on them.

Ive had my SE C905 since Nov 1st 08. Saturday it switched off. Sunday it switched off and took about 20 mins to switch back on. Then it started pausing everytime I went through menue screens. So its gone back. Do a Google seems like there are quite a few peeps having problems with them at the moment. Ive only ever have SE's and never had any problems before this phone.

Near the end of my contract so being hassled by loads of irritating cold callers trying to flog me a new one. Two won't be calling again but one is being VERY persistent.
