Having had it so good for so long, there is bound to be casualties. It's a shame that the fat cats will still come out on top whilst the 'canon fodder' at the bottom of the chain will lose out.

So thats who it is......
Interestingly (almost) only the dimmer switch on the dashboard is in common with an aircraft. Nothing else at all.
Still thoughts out to the blue collar that will feel this more than anyone.

ahh the wibbly wobbly 9-3 curse - the 9-5 is much better having had a 9-3T and now have a 9-5 aero. still too much GM in them though!

one of the major selling points was the fighter plane image, with the **** pit lighting etc. however lets be honest, the cars were never amasing.
id hate to have bought a saab recently lol

I had a 9-3 convertible as my "look like a posh idiot on clients sites" car, I found it went around corners like the boat.....
Its a pity as I like the brand. Maybe Porsche or VW will buy them, They seem to be into that at the moment.

SAAB's always depreciated like used toilet paper in the first 4 years anyway so some bargains to be had.

brands mean nothing anyway these days. They're all owned by a few and just use the old rep to charge a bit more if possible. It's not like there's any fun in owning a car these days anyway. I personally cant wait for my automated transport box which I don't have to drive. Total recall is the future!

however running 2 brands, with identical models is and always has been absurd, but
GM seem to thinks its ok? think of how much money could be saved, by aligning
the two marques Vauxhall / Opal
Lets face it, would anyone care if you bought an Opal as opposed to a Vauxhall.

The old 92X was based on the Impreza platform. It was only ever offered in North America and wasn't a big seller, hence why it was killed off. Shame as it was a rather nice Q car, a Saabaru if you like (one of the local chaps has one and has that licence plate on it ).

The thing with vauxhall in ellesmere port is that they are all tooled up for the new astra thats coming out towards the end of this year, so they are a pretty safe bet to be ok, its the commercial area's that will be hit the hardest i think, vans and trucks..
