for you ROLEX buffs.. what do you think to this?
bought off a mate who's come back off holiday.. £40
I'm hard pushed at a glance to see a difference in th ereal thing.
the one on the right is a real Cosmograph 1996 model (the Sea Dweller's real too)
thrre is slight differences on the 'workings' but its a good copy IMO.

Dont wear it.
Once you have been seen to wear a blag watch...ALL your watches are blag, even if they are not.
How does it run, does the bottom sub dial sweep and count time/secs even when the stop watch function is at rest?
I bet the sweep on the large stop watch finger is grainy, they dont seem to be able to produce 28,800BPH.
For £40 its got to be worth that, but thats 2 weeks wages where it was built.

I don`t see the fascination with fakes, to me fake gear like watches and clothing just says the person thats wearing them is a fake themselves.
I bet your the type of person that if a fake **** came out and it was 8 inches and was convincing where you couldn`t tell the difference then you would go out and buy one.
Luckily i don`t have that problem, i`m happy with my real 10 inch **** that is stamped with a british kite mark seal of quality.

I know, just knowing its not real makes me want my real ones on more.

i'll have to get my 'real' one out to compare the movement.

As you know the real deal will start its stopwatch function at the press of button A and stop on the next press of button A.
Button B will then reset the stopwatch and sub dials to zero by means of :flyback:
Sub dial 1 counts mins, and subdial 2 hours.
If your turkey moves its subdials via button 1, it is of very poor quality and most likely Chinese of origin.
Dont get it wet.
Some turkeys are one to one copies with no deviation whatsoever from the original and even jewellers can be fooled but you can pay upto $600 for them.
Highend swiss turkeys can be viewed here, they are listed as SWISS but are actually copies of swiss movements 1 to 1, they also trade rubbish as you will see by the prices and listing of ASIAN movement.

Instant tells are the 9 on the subdial at 9 should not be level with the 9 batton on the main dial,it should be slightly higher, plus the rehaut is woky and the wrong angle and the crown is the wrong size, plus the crown guards are too fat. Oh and the bracelet end links don't fit snugly.
Other than that, from a frontal pic it's okish.
It has a 21j asian movement so the subdials don't work properly. The better Daytona replicas have an Eta Valjoux 7750 movement with an extra movement plate on them with extra gears and Four extra ruby jewels - this moves the seconds at 9 (how a 7750 normally runs) to seconds at 6 like the Rolex movement has. These are about $300 and are 95% accurate. The seconds on the secs at Six subdial are not as smooth as they should be because of the extra gear transfer applied.
Rolex used to use Zenith El Primero movements (actually far better than the current in-house movement they now use) which had seconds at 9 but switched to their own movement designed to run seconds at 6 - they thought that this would be impossible to copy with an off the shelf movement.
They were wrong - the Chinese can copy ANYTHING and have done now for years... They just buy a genuine sample and reverse engineer it - easy. In around 10 years it is estimated that Chinese movements will be as good as Swiss ones.

real v fake
the locking clasp is different, but not sure what a newer model clasp is like these days.
bewtween the two, the real daytona feels all silky and smooth, weight fells 'balanced' on the real compared to the copy.
