Default American Chopper

I quite like it but I kind of think it has run its course, surely there are only so many times you can build the same bike with some themed tat welded on to it ?

Discuss,

Stopped watching it a couple of years ago for the same reason - typical american crap TV - find a formula that works, then flog it to death for as long as possible. The first couple of series were quite interesting, but its obvious they ran out of new ideas for bikes pretty quickly.

OCC are a bit of a joke though among custom builders - most of what they do is take a standard catalogue parts, weld on a couple of themed parts from whichever company they are making it for, paint it in the company colours, then charge them $150,000. There very little design goes into most of the bikes, and pretty much any monkey with a spanner could make them same thing.

Still, they can keep the money rolling in selling their branded car mats, drinks coasters and other tat to brainless morons.

Do not forget the OCC t shirts and baseball caps that seem so popular over here

Stopped watching it after the Black Widow bike.

Just just the same programme with "insert "different" bike" and family rows. Boring if you ask me.

You know what annoys me with some american show..... The way they show you what is going to happen in the rest of the show every 5 minutes. Just play the show and we will bloody see it anyway

I also thinks its ran its course, bikes like the NASA Shuttle bike are just hideous.
As a team though they are quite entertaining to watch, shame Vinny left as he was really clued up.

Worst thing about the company Vinny set up ( cant remember their name now, was something similar to OCC IIRC ) is that he followed the same business plan as them.

He had a really fancy website made, fan forum, T-shirts, caps etc... for sale - and all this before they had actually built a bike !

'Custom bikes' is a bit of a sad idea anyway - the whole idea is to start with a stock bike, then modify it YOURSELF to how you want it, so it is a one off, not buy one already finished, or just bolt on shiny bits from the manufacturers catalogue.

I do like the programme in small doses but the bikes look so impossible and uncomfortable to ride.

Curiously enough I stopped watching it around the time they did the trip to the UK (around the same time I cancel NTL!!)

The only thing I've missed from the Discovery Channel is The Great Biker Build Off.

I would have a bike off these guys though: :: e x i l e ::

I think the latter! I spent about a year or two lurking, but start posting again quite recently.

Well it is my Scoobynet 10 year anniversary this April!
