Radio1 alternatives?
There must be some but i can't find them on my radio I thought that i hated Chris Moyles and his crew of goons until i heard Vernan Kay and Chris Moyles Goones!.
With an hour and a half trip to work every morning i need an alternative before i get all "Falling Down" on people!

I quite like R2.
Wogan is a bit dreary and the god bit always seems to be on the way to work.
The chap during lunchtime seems to choose debates on things with the most polar opposed views leading to some amusing emotionally charged phone ins.
Chris Evans isn't too bad on the way home either.
Saturday with Ross is better than him on the TV, theres the lad who used to do something on big brother who is OK Dermot thingy.
They also have these sketch show things Saturday afternoon I think it is which can be very funny.
the music isn't bad, not great but I just can't stand anything played on Radio1 - its all pure unadulterated bollox.

I'm a radio 2 fan too. Ken Bruce is canny. I like Chris Evans doing Drive Time. Favourite radio show of the moment is Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie at 8pm-10pm on Radio 2. They play some cracking new and rarely played music from new artists.

Baz - Radio 7 for talk/comedy stuff, Radio 6 for good music, Chill for chilled music (!) with no ads (no idea how they pay for themselves!!) and a few good commercial stations too - we are in Cornwall but can get most digital London stations.

Cheers Matt. I've been listening to Kerrang mostly. We don't actually get as many stations as I thought we would. Is it like freeview in the way that the channels/stations come and go?

Chris Moyles imo defo gets worse as the week goes on. Monday he is tolerable by Wednesday I've heard everything he has to say 10million times then by Friday after listening to him sleeze over some celebrity I find the need to rip my radio out of the car and smash it over his skull.

We have a little one (Pure One), a medium sized one (Pure Evoke 2) and a hifi one (Teac Reference 300) that all seem to have their own ways of "doing" DAB radio! I'd say the Pure Evoke 2 is the most "robust" and seems to get the most stations.

I'm actually missing Sara ***! I hated her on Breakfast but whilst she was sitting in for Jo Whiley I actually got to liking her! Not a massive fan of Whiley I must say, as for Ejit Bowman, nnnnghhh!
Radcliffe and Maconie are awesome, they make working lates bearable!

In my opinion they're the most underrated djs on radio at the moment. Hardly anyone heard of them but their crack is spot on. I was a Mark and Lard fan back in the day so maybe it stems from there. The Shirehorses!

Mark is on Radio 6 quite often. As is Nemone (sp?), Steve Lamaq, Craig Charles (does a great funk show) and other ex R1 djs that are no longer "cool"
Sara *** is one sexy doll IMO.

I am a big Absolute radio fan and listen when and where I can.
The OC can be a bit annoying at times, but I have gotten used to it.
Moyes is OK, but if I am in the car and can't get Absolute, then I will listen to Jo Whiley.

I'm starting to get my groove with Radio2 but there is times when unfortunately a 23year old just cannot listen to Radio2 lolol.
Anyone every tried audio books or other alternatives whilst on longish journeys?

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down t' mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep wi' his belt.
PS: thanks to Monty Python's Flying Circus - "Four Yorkshiremen"

XFM if you can get it, Alex Zane does the breakfast show, I think it's pretty good. Broadcasts in London, Manchester and Edinburgh I think, although you can get it on digital as well.
