Top Gear!
Right then, I smell a rat with Top Gear.
I'm watching Jay K go round the top gear test track and you can clearly see that on his "hot lap" they are using 2 different cars.
How can you tell,
Well when he starts his lap, the passenger seat is a Sparco seat, half way through the lap though, they manage to change it to an OMP one like the drivers, they are not even the same seats, they are a completely different design with the OMP seat having helmets wings

From what I remember, they've got more than one car...... for example when Lionel Ritchie'w wheel came off, they put him in a different but same car...

On the occasional time you get to see the in car clock, watch that too. Some laps end 15 mins before they started.
I reckon the times are real (ish) but the footage used is only the most exciting, so taken from all laps. Prob one of the reasons they give them SO many laps to do.
Almost as flawed as F1 eh lol

They have 2 Lianna's in case of damage/breakdowns, and the hot lap shown is always an amalgamation of many laps for filming purposes. They probably only have one camera, so move it 20 times during a few hours. If you look really hard you might be able to tell the time of day varying via shadows and stuff

proceed on the basis that everything you see on the TV is a total fabrication, all in the name of your entertainment.
to be clear, that’s news, current affairs, documentaries, reality TV, non reality TV etc etc etc etc
and you will be right more often than not

I know they have 2 cars but how can they both be used with Jay K driving them both at the same time on the same lap?
As the camera was flicking from outside the car to the inside shots, he was on his full hot lap that is shown, but they were showing footage from the 2 different cars claiming they were the same lap,

Like I said Smiff, its the most exciting footage from all the laps, not THE lap. Kinda the same as I dont think Stig was REALLY in the car when it went off the carrier lol
