![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
My kids are off overseas in a a few weeks. One to USA (3 weeks) and one to South America (9 weeks). Both over 21.
I want to get some travel insurance, especially medical just in case.
So where is the best deal?
I have a Post Office application form but it does begin to add up. Nearly £300 for the 2 policies![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Thanks, dl

I took out Travel Insurance for 3 months when travelling in Latin America. I used Halifax, think it was about £90 for the policy and covered everything I wanted really.
Think I found the deal on travel supermarket

I have used these: Cheap Travel Insurance Quote | Cheap Holiday Insurance Quote | insurefor.com
Quite cheap and unfortunately had to use them once when my wife and daughter were taken sick abroad and everything was surprisingly good.

Check out Travel Supermarket, they have the best deals. Took out a annual worldwide policy for me and the missus for our recent trip, as we was going for more than 31 days needed to shop around a bit as most only cover up to 31 days. Think we got one with a 45 day max limit on any trip in the end. Was just over £50 for both of us.

Also check out Direct Travel Insurance. Never claimed, but they have saved us a fortune in premiums compared to the holiday company's policies.
Annual family cover is approx. £50. 10% discount on renewal.
They have specialist backpacker insurance policies.

www.dogtag.com found it brilliant for snowboarding. idea is they give you a dogtag with your number on it, and if anything happens doctors can type this into the dogtag website and pick up any information you choose to give them, making it a real bonus in emergancy situations.
cost isnt too bad, and they will cover a fair amount of stuff.
