Default Back home over the Millau Viaduct...worth the detour

Drove to the south coast this weekend, work on Monday in Toulouse and back via the Millau, cracking day in the Midi and worth the extra 2 hours to Lyon.

Excuse the Beetle, at least I got past the lorry on the decent

Aye, good isn't it?

Built by Eiffel, the company of the man who built the tower, and the Viaduc de Garabit near St Flour. 1884

Still not been over the Millau one in rain/wind though..............

I hope to have a week or so near to that this summer: wife is off to Oz to see her sisters, and I will HAVE to visit the French house to do some more work and keep the garden under control, so may treat myself to a week in the Gorges du Tarn, WITH the Scoob

Great link, literally in the middle of nowhere - take it that your house is in the area.

The A75 was quite a road, 300 km of rises and bends, could get through a tank-full of fuel quite quickly.

No mate, it's nerar Limoges, but what's a few hours in a Scoob in France, even in high summer?

I just love the Gorges du Tarn, spent quite some time there, off and on, over the years, we used to camp there with the kids too.

Just sitting beside the Tarn, reading and occasionally going for a dip, well it's relaxation......then a nice evening meal with wine and beer

And if you WANT more to do, the coast is only an hour now with the motorway, and loads to see in the area.

Beautiful looking bridge.

I used to live over looking the Akashi Kaikyo suspension bridge and watched the final stages of construction.

This is from our house

and this is a view close up
