I have drained the oil out of my compressor to transport it to France.
I don't want to reuse the old stuff as it had swarf in it.![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Now I'm looking for some stuff to replace it with, and need about 150ml. I'm being offered 1 litre at £10, or 5 litres at £12.![Brickwall](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/brickwall.gif)
So...........anyone know what I could put in instead of the liquid gold "compressor oil" I'm being offered?

It's about £5 for a litre at Machine Mart and I think the bigger B&Qs sell it, but don't know how much for.
I'd guess you could stick some kind of engine oil in, but I'd do some googling before I stuck any old stuff in my compressor.

have used synthetic(spare from oil change) in my compressor for the last 4 or 5 yrs with fairly heavy use(at least 4-500 hrs using air tools andspraygun) with no problems so far-does sound better too and seems to run cooler.
Remember to drain the tank every few hrs tho.
cheers richie

the tank builds up water which will rust it from the inside rather fast-a 10 bar tank exploding from weakness inside is not nice trust me
