For those who use logic studio, or other music production programs
I have started using logic to produce mainly house and dance music, but i am trying to find a sound I'm not sure if it is an instrument with an effect or 2 on top, or a synth.
The sound i am looking for is the kind they would use in the older days of house, piano house to be exact. The kind you would find in bizarre inc etc
Yootoob links below to demonstrate what i mean..
YouTube - Larry Tee ft Princess Superstar - Licky (Herve Goes Low rmx)
The song above, if you skip in to 2:45 you will hear what i mean.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated
Also another thing, if anyone knows where to download further loops or instruments that can be installed, please let me know.

Sounds like some sort of echo synthesizer to me. Either an original piece thats been written and then 'funked' up a bit, or a gizmo which automatically does the echoing on each key press.
I do think a midi keyboards been used somewhere along the lines, but don't know a great deal on the production side.

yeah at first i thought it was a distorted piano, but apparently its not according to a mate of mine who does music at uni.
i can use a midi keyboard for input, make a melody, and then i can select an instrument, then add effects or i can select a synthesiser and alter it to sound how i want, but i cannot find that sound. maybe im just being lazy

I understand that it originated from the Korg M1 which generated most of the house piano sounds back in the late 80's to early 90's. I'm sure you'd find it in a sample pack somewhere, I've probably got a copy somewhere in the depths.
You'd probably be better off sampling it from something like Terrorize's 'It's just a feeling' or similar.

Sounds like a normal bass tone that has gone through a filter clone. Try a ms20 filter clone, You should be able to get an easy accurate replica from that.
Or try to get a real MS20, its cheaper to get the clone

Hi mate
Firstly IF it was an M1, it would be preset 01 or 41 (16ft or 8ft piano)
But it's not
It's a piano sample from Bizzarre Inc's
playin with knives
Just with a HF/resonance filter to sharpen it up a bit (educated guess )
easy to reproduce in Logic. Use EXS24 to build up a piano sample with a bass note. Best way is to record a minor chord (Fmin) into the sequencer and record that into EXS24.
Put in across several keys so when you play the root note, it will play the Fmin chord. When you play other keys, it will pitch up and speed up (nice old school sample sound )
Gimme a PM if you're stuck and I'll ave a play on my system
