Aye, good, let's all celebrate the coppers battering folk again. Remember the miners? The poll tax protesters?

Police: bully boys and enforcers for whatever government pays 'em

Poll tax protesters?

Yes, let's allow groups of yobs to smash up the place without anyone curbing them

Errm yeaaah, thats the one. The day all coppers live for. Beating the unwashed....

They gave as good as they got, and lets face facts if the scummy people had not kicked off, the police would not have been blocking them and battling with them.

As I said, its a shame a few more of the ringleaders didnt get a bit more of a beating.

You wouldn't want me in charge.

The scum in trafalgar square during the pool tax riots would have gotten a Jean Charles DeMenezes piece of justice from me !

The miners should have been attacking Arthur Scarcnut - not folk trying to earn a decent wage.

Great find Warren

A Sky News reporter summed this bunch up in a single line at 9.30 this morning.

"even on a fine spring morning, 9.30 is a bit too early for most protesters"
Says it all.

See the goading that was going on. Trying to provoke a reaction from the police. If they WERE just out for trouble (the police that is) they would have beaten the crap out of him.

I was interested to learn that the 24 arrests went up to 88 over night. Technology is a bitch eh The police spent the evening and night gathering these arseholes up

Now imagine an even keel, let the police wear ski masks and no shoulder numbers and see how juicy it gets then. Want a level playing field.......

Its funny how if it was a peaceful protest the Police generally don't punch anybody, to be honest I think they would have been justified in cracking out the rubber bullets when the bank got broken into.

The Police did a good job by all accounts, not too heavy handed, kept the situation contained and used the available technology to mop up the offenders afterwards.

I sort of have some sympathy with some of the sentiments that are being protested about but breaking stuff helps nobody, I bet most of the protesters are in it for ***** and giggles and will be embarassed about the whole thing as they get older.

Ok, the financial situation is one thing but the situation decending into lawlessness and anarchy is another thing entirely, we are on the back foot at the moment as a nation, as a global communitiy but I fail to see how smashing everything up will help matters, I bet most of those causing agro would run for their mummies if the **** really hit the fan, I personally cant go down to London to break windows as I have a job I have to turn up at every day most of the year, ok some may have lost their jobs recently but I bet a fair percentage just live in bedsits, getting benefits and plotting how to overthrow the evil regime, Yawn, they have been at it since the dawn of time, change the record.

Any excuse for a scrap, the police did a fine job kerbing their aggression I would have gone medieval on them.
As for the bank, bank robbers, just shoot on site..

There is one in the sun today where the photographers are all crowding round a lad while he smashes a window at a bank...stupid.
