To be honest, I'm surprised HMRC didn't already have these powers.

And judging by the kind of "people" I've dealt with at HMRC, they most certainly do "enjoy" powers of entry, along with the many many other powers that they have.

not really as i don't sell on ebay, although i do know of some people doing 30k a year via it

i would assume plenty of people do these kinds of figures plus more ?

Perhaps if someone is doing 30 grand a year via Ebay then perhaps they would like t pay some income tax like the rest of us, ok, a few quid here and there but 30 grand is taking the p1ss, everyone who works should pay some tax, perhaps then those stuck on PAYE wouldnt have to pay so much.

Cant really complain about the revenue getting greater powers to try and recoup some money.

There are so many that pay very little tax, generally they are self employed or handle cash, the government are just trying to get what they are owed.
