I quite like "Bonkers" by the way, but I think that is more the Arman Van Helden content rather than Dizzee's contribution, though he does seem quite amusing.
J4CKO, feeling a bit like the ancient Harry Enfield Rap DJ's.

This guy just sounds like a some geezer down the pub talking nonsense over a repetitive mind numbing beat

Yep he's completely crap.
Before I moved down here to Newquay I used to live in Bristol where I was the Head Doorman for one of the biggest clubs. He played at our venue on a Saturday night and
he was even worse than normal (if that's even possible). However, he kept singing about shooting people etc which then meant we had over 1000-1500 people thinking they were all gangsters. We had about 20 fights in the space of half an hour.
What a ****

Yeah, he's a chav, but actually talking face to face seems to be ok, better than the 'innit' crew.
Bad Times - Captain Rap = real rap, not that shoot you in the face **** they rap about now.

I'm not keen on the guy, but the beat in his latest tune (which has to be Armand Van Helden on the production side of things) is an absolute belter. I'd love to find the dub mix and use it in a progressive set.
Wil see if any remixes come out as that could be bassline of the year with that guitar riff

to be honest im not his biggest fan i find his music annoying his voice is annoying but his lyrics are funny. you can never compare him to like run DMC, snoop, 2PAC, biggy are in a diffrent leauge when it comes to rap then you have the rest of the american artist eminem, kanye, 50CENT there just entertainers bit like dizzy rascal but again his not quite upthere with the best and never will. im a massive rnb and hip hop fan but but for some reason i still listen to the 1994 to about 2000 period type of music, most of the new music is nothing like before i know it makes me sound old but music has changed a lot with in the last 10 years.
all these new tunes that really dont have a meaning it more rhymes than lyrics.
im not fan when they talk about guns and shooting cause its pointless and it only makes hype which creates fightes. so if i knew he was live somewhere i guess i wont be there.
BUT HEY GIVE THE GUY CREDIT HIS EARNING HIS BREAD AND MAKING SERIOUS MONEY AND IF I HAD A CHOICE TO SELL HOUSES OR CHAT CRAP ON THE MIC AND MAKE THAT KIND OF MONEY ITS AN EASY ONE.

To me his music sounds like he can't actually get the vocals right due to his fat bottom lip getting in the way. Don't know what he looks like so don't actually know if he has a fat lip it just sounds as if he does
On the flip side of the coin, i love these N-Dubz people, your fella Dappy is spot on with all the interviews he does and is a great laugh on Nevermind The Buzzcocks.

saw him live a few weeks ago at the Birmingham NIA (not through choice - they were supporting the Prodigy )
most of the set was typical rapper rubbish dressed up with a million "f*ck this" and "f*ck that" going on. but the last track - Bonkers - was awesome. Actually had a lot of the Prodigy fans there impressed

A lot of people dont get grime, it can be a bit tricky to listen too at first but thats kinda the idea. I have been into grime for about 8 or 9 years, its getting bigger thats for sure.
For people that dont think there is any talent in the guy you need to understand how the music is produced. A hell of a lot goes into it and there is a lot of creativity and new ideas.
For me its Diz, Kano and Sway. They are the top 3. Skepta is catching up!
Tinchy, wiley, Lbizzle etc are all ok, but they are struggling for recognition really. A lot of them will struggle due to their past (and current!) history, if you get my drift.
Its a very small genre of hip hop - which is not really liked that much by most people anyway!
S1FU - was it the Anson rooms? I saw David Banner there with Kano, must have been 3 years ago now though. Was absolutly mental.

I have to kind of agree with him in some respects though (just not with such a wide brush!). There is quite a bit of crap out there. But, on the flip side is there is some massive tallent out there. Its taken years for the likes of Dizzie to get into the mainstream because the music can be so different. Dizzie has the best A&R behind him (Sem) and its taken that long.. and he still has staying power.
What impresses me is a track like Eskimo, still sounds fresh now, yet he was playing with ideas like this back in 98/99.... you only have to see someone like Kano / Wiley performing with Jay Z to realise how much respect this kind of music has within hip hop. 2 step on the whole was massive last year, there are a few tracks coming through for this year that will take it to the next level. I think it will be a good year for the rest of hip hop too. Em and Dre are back, Busta etc etc...
And if you think all rappers are the same you need to check out Ahser Roth..
IMHO.

Dizze rascal talentless moron imo
and copious references to shooting, stabbing and sexually assaulting people is not my idea of great music.
If you sang about these things normally you would be shot down in flame, yet incorporate these things into rap and it's fine.
I'm not saying there are not any good rap artists out there but this crap is unacceptable
i'm not a female beater but if that girl gets facety ill
slap that girl all hasty
