What does your car, say about you ?

What does your car, say about you ?
Alot of people here are obviously keener on cars than average Joe Public who buy certain models for all sorts of reasons. So what car do you have and what do you think (or hope) it says about you ? Do you care about that side of it ? or is it something about the handling or the power delivery ?
No real reason to ask just that I'm interested to see why people have bought certain cars.......
I'll start..........I currently drive a Fabia vRS so I obviously don't care about the image part and bought the car cos I was doing alot of miles and wanted something reliable, frugal, cheap but with at least a little bit of poke......its been all them and overall better than expected..........

I have a Classic WRX with an STi lump in it, A black hawkeye wagon and a Triumph TR4A, I think it says that I am not prepared to commit to anything and old beyond my years.

Erm, I drive a Signum.
Not sure what that says about me. I do 25k a year and wanted an inexpensive diesel to do lots of miles in comfort. Rear passengers are glad I bought it.

I drive a GT3 and love the power, engine, shape, handling and bought it for this unique driving experience.
If I am honest it does get a lot of attention, but it mostly embarrasses rather than empowers me. Once in a while a particularly hot babe gives it a lot of attention but who would want a woman who just wants you for your car? (Well if she is hot enough and has twenty minutes spare...)
What this probably all says about me is attention seeking middle aged man with more money than sense

Nothing at the moment but ordered and S4 Avant. Which will hopefully be understated but quick, comfortable and practical, not forgetting excellent residuals!

I drive an 06 STi Spec D, so what I'd like it say is that I'm more than able, able to prove it but don't need to shout about it.
Whether it does, or I am, is another thing

I have a Focus ST and bought it for the power/fun ratio. Certainly no other reason as my wife quite succinctly put it when I brought it home: "Oh, you have Focus .. ".
Any car which you have to then say "No ... it has a 2.5 litre turbo ... and does 0-60mph in 6 seconds" and you've somewhat lost any possible chance of having the car for any kind of showing off.

I drive a classic Scoob, a Civic Type R and an S2000.
I think that says that as far as I am concerned the jury is out on the FWD vs RWD vs AWD debate and that I can't make my mind up between high revving normally aspirated VTEC power delivery and lower revving turbo power delivery.
So all that says ... I am indecisive

Interesting thread
Up until today, I've had an Audi S4 Avant. I would like to think it says that I've finally grown up a bit, whilst still being rather quick!!! Particularly when I've got the kids and dogs in the back
It does draw some looks from the opposite sex, which whilst flattering is totally pointless!! However, it hasn't attracted much attention from the boy-racers, nor the criminal/police . Probably because it is SO understated
Not to sure about the earlier residual comment - big-engined turbo'd cars are not en vogue at the moment. I was lucky that I've sold mine for a good price.
And I pick up my Golf GTI later on today Which probably says alot - attempted reclamation on my youth?

I don't think that as car enthusiasts any of us have much insight into what image our cars give off.
I aspire to a car which joe Public will not even register but that those with an interest will clock and mutter "ah yes this guy thought before he bought"
Spook mate don't be modest the birds are looking at the massive camel tail in your jeans not the car

2005 Astra Estate (1.9CDTi Design) - when we bought it the car was a new model and quite unusual. Not any more. I think it "says" fairly invisible car after the R32 and we aren't worried about image (I lost my badge snobbery disability a while back). Not thrilling but pokey enough and competent enough to have a bit of fun. Longest we've ever had a car and genuinely still pleased with it.
2005 (late) Jimny softop - errrmmmm... to most it says "hairdresser" - to the very few it says "better off road than almost anything else, Jap quality, easy to park, a but daft and rather fun" I actually rather like it.

Green Passat tdi estate says boring but practical and economical family car
Green classic scoob with gold wheels says i'm a chav boy racer (but I couldn't give a toss as I love it to bits and been addicted ever since buying my first one)
Green Rover 214 with accident damage to front wheel arch and rusty in places says i'm an underachiever with little money in his 30's However this car passes its MOT with no advisories every year and I don't even service it regularly and it has never let me down once.
My driveway says I like green cars - I don't especially they just happened to be the cars I chose on condition rather than colour at the time. My house says I like to spend more on that than have expensive cars.
