Where are the Scoobynet Cyclists at ?
Been quiet on the cycling front in here, not seen the usuall suspects post for a bit ?
I completed my first year of communting last week, 1600 miles on the odometer which I have not had all year so I estimate I did about 2000 in total.
They are re-starting the Cycle To Work scheme at work so am going to get a nice road bike, a mate from work has lent me one to see how I get on with them compared to my hybrid, a quick go tonight on it and it feels fantastic, very comfy, very light and fast, its a Felt F65, only trouble is no speedo so I wont know how much better my average is, current best average is 17.5, typically about 16, so hoping for nearer 20.

Cool Jacko, I bought a bike under the Gov cycle to work scheme with great intentions. Sadly I got totally pissed and sold it down the pub the next day for £30. Note: Must try harder to lose my alcoholism

My road bike is in the garage with a flat tyre. Have changed the inner tube, must pump it up!
Been out on the mountain bike a couple of times, but nothing serious. Dave doing in his knee has scuppered my biking fun of late.
Still got the one with the engine in it and going out on it on Sunday

Its pretty obviously a nice incentive this cycling scheme , i must say id like to give it ago again soon ( racer and mountain bike in the garage) - its just too easy at 40+ to do a days work and then relax over a beer
Entirley different if you have to travel to work of course ..

Cycle2Work took ages to come through with the voucher. I almost wish I hadn't bothered.
Nearly got the bike tweaked the way I want it but typically now I have a new toy I've just not had much chance to get out on it other than the commute.

I've changed departments and I'm at a different place til November so the bike's been garaged. It's just not practical with the kit I have to take to use the bike.
Come November I intend to be back cycling again.
I'm out running more to make it up but I'm taking it all out on the scoob as I'm back to visiting petrol stations every 5 min again

My 13 year old bike has finally given up the ghost today, one day before I finish work in the UK for 6-months. The (original) chain snapped about a week ago and I took the link out and rejoined the chain. I didn't bother adjusting the derailier because I had about 30 miles left I needed to cover before I went overseas. It threw the chain today that also took out 4 spokes so I'll probably run to work tomorrow. Can't complain, with the tyres, innertubes and brake pads I have bought over the years the bike owes me 25pence for every week I've had it
I planned on getting a new back when I get home at Christmas, and looked into the cycle to work scheme. Ironically, goverment employees cannot get it, at least not in the MOD

18 miles, west side of Northampton to central Wellingborough. Would probably not be 18 miles if travelling through Northampton town centre, but that would be life threatening I think! I will probably do it once in the summer to see if I can do it when I've got a bit more time.

Still cycling daily and planning on racing a bit more (only raced as part of an off road triathlon so far). And still constantly spending money on the bike - XT SPDs arrived yesterday!
