Agreed.
He has really done some fantastic things since Top Gear, and that HAS to be the best.
An interesting guy to listen to, puts things in simple terms, but not afraid to be humbled.
Did like the break down of how a Saturn works, and it reaching "Top Gear" lol and the face then pulled.

Still in use but is gearing down for full retirement. It is used for short notice surveillance work which doesn't allow the time for the redeployment of satellites. Its Global Hawk replacement is still unsuitable for some of the requirements so they will be using them for another 2-4 years at least,

Yeah, really enjoyed it. Both James May & Clarkson are very good documentry presenters. Thought the views from 70,000ft were just spectacular.
Watched the extra program on BBC4 straight after.

I would imagine that very few people have done passenger flights on those - it was very special. I would have thought that one sortie must cost a few bob! USAF PR I guess.
Also brings into perspective the guy who did the parachute jump from 102000 feet in 1960!!!!!!!!!! Mind boggling.

They used to take off every day from the base in Florida. It was entertaining to see them come over the threshold of the runway to be followed down the runway by a very powerful pickup truck with a man in the back whose job it was to catch the wingtip as it came to a stop and then they could slot in the wingtip wheels so that it could taxi. The wingtip wheels fall out onto the runway as it takes off.
No reason why you can't fly perfectly well if you need glasses by the way.
