I had never really been on a proper one until I went to CentreParcs last year, was really looking forward to it but actually found it a fairly unpleasant experience, floundering around, in the dark in heavily clorinated water realising that contact lenses were probably not a good idea in this circumstance and then getting spat out at the other end, usually into someone not anticpating the speed attained by my aerodynamic "twin hull" design.
Best bit it watching as the end bit can disloge ladies costumes like the one I saw come down after me, stood up realised what had happened as one was colder than the other and then sank back in, all in about 2 nanoseconds, in hindsight her top was no way going to survive re-entry.
