Light weight food to take on a plane.
We are off to Majorca this summer and because the exchange rate isn't great atm we are going to take as much food as we can, with us.
I have left a lot of stuff In Majorca with someone last year so i don't have to take so much clobber with me this time and i will have extra room in my case.
I have already got things like filter coffee, tea bags and cereal etc but i need some more ideas. I am going for 2 weeks.
I like to spend my money on more important things. Last year we spent hundreds on food just for a week. I am staying in a villa so i will be cooking al fresco, i love it
This holiday is on a tight budget and i am tight

Check what you are and are not allowed before you get too carried away.
If you are that bothered, take meal replacement drinks. Just add water.

I have left behind some food stuff from last year, olive oil and some herbs and bits and bobs. The sell by date on them was ok so i thought i would keep them lol.
I think we spent over £400 for a weeks food last year. Spar was about the only place to shop and it was so expensive so i thought i would take loads with me. I have been getting bits and pieces when i go shopping.
I sound like a right tight git
I dont think there are too many food restrictions for majorca but i will check just in case.
I am going to take a case pf peppers and chillies with me from my greenhouse

Is it really worth the hassle for a few quid if you would save anything at all? Best just doing a trip to the supermarket once you're there and pick up all your stuff. doubt it would be much more unless you insist on buying all the typical English brands in which case you deserve to be ripped off.

How the **** can you spend £400 a week in Spar? How many people were you feeding?
Last year, with six of us staying in a villa for two weeks we probably spent £400 in total. And I am not known for either scrimping or holding back on the eating.
Mind you, if you were buying English food in a Spar that would knock the price up immediately.
Plan well, use simple recipes and eat simple local produce. Also find a proper supermarket - there are loads in Mallorca. Where are you staying?
The other thing is that the exchange rate is around 30% worse than last summer so prices will be higher.
Of course if you are desperate you can usually find a few roadkill cats and birds to supplement your diet

That powdered milk is very good. My little tip is to save on your weight allowance simply fill condoms with the powdered milk and then tie them before swallowing them. This will allow you to take it through customs while not impacting on your baggage allowance. Once in Spain nature will take care of the rest.

I don't know how i did it. Every 2 days we went shopping. We would go out intending to get a few days worth and finding it only lasting 2 days. We spent about 80 euros each time. If the wine ran low we would go out for more and come back with shopping. We didn't throw much away either.
I can take loads of these

SM, i think you have hit the nail on the head
If i buy all the wine i need for the 2 weeks on the first day i wont have to leave the villa again
I am going to have nearly 2 empty cases so i can fill them up with food
My dad took out loads of my clothes to the family apartment in Cala Dor last week so i am traveling very light, clothes wise.

Even considering the exchange rate, how can anyone spend £400 on a weeks food ? In Blighty I manage to feed the three of us and all other items for less than £80. That's usually £20 at the butchers and the rest at the supermarket. We always eat fresh meat and veg in home cooked meals, no pre-packaged $h!te. Last week was expensive as we needed nappies (in bulk to reduce price per ), 'she' got some wine (3x Lindemans for £10 saving £16), a bottle of rum for fathers day along with a card and a few other occasional pricey items, and I still only spent £110.
