Why not sell 1000 tickets @ £10 each, instead of being greedy.

Suppose it depends how much the car is worth and how many tickets are sold before a winner is chosen. If only 700 are sold it leaves bit of a shortfall.

Or as you suggest cheaper tickets, but more of them is one idea, but still a case of will a winner be chosen if all tickets are not sold.

Do a search on here for car raffles and quickly forget about it.
Stick it in Autotrader at a reasonable price and wait

You'll have to pay a solicitor to draw up a contract etc before I would buy a ticket!

I'm gonna say no, as you can't even contruct a sentance properly, so I'd personally feel a little concerned giving you at least £20 of my cash for some raffle

No offence by the way, thats just the way it comes across

Looking at what you've written are you actually surprised nobody can read it?

It seems like this isn't panning out the way you intended, and you're not getting the interest you'd hoped for, but that's how it goes here sometimes. Once you've posted something you really have very little control over how it proceeds and having a strop about wanting only yes posts is going to make it more likely to go awry.

What's a 'yes only thread'? You post the thread but you cant restrict the comments that other members make.

I wouldnt bother, because none of these lotteries ever make it to a draw, do they?

a yes only thread is for people that are intrested to put a yes on so i can see if its worth doing it the right way...not a thread for key board fighters

Is it even legal? Isn't it a form of gambling if there no element of skill, and therefore needs to be licensed?

Deep, itd be an illegal lottery. There are ways around it but its a lot of work/expense and I dont recall one ever actually going full-term. I recall several ending up in legal action though: when the organiser couldnt identify all of the ticket holders to refund them, I think.

How would that legal action work then if all the ticket holders couldnt be identified, surely it would have been them taking legal action

This thread would have been better as a poll with a simple yes or no answer

Although im guessing at which one of the answers would have been clicked the most

I believe the way around this is the very simple question most prize draws include.

Yes, there has to be an element of skill involved. Easier said than done though...

I'm not seeing many 'yes'es. Surely that in itself is an answer.

I'm going to start a thread asking everyone to reply with the word 'toast' only. And I am going to have a right (wright) old hissy fit if they don't.
