Default Private Car Warranties?

I've having a pooh time at the mo with my car electrics and had it checked out by an independant and maindealer to find out that the Body Control Module is on its last legs and this can only be bought and fitted by the dealer network apparently at the cost of £420.

Since i'm out of work at has spent £400 on the car in the last month I was tempted to maybe pull a fast one and get a private car warranty and use it to cover the fault as it would be cheaper. I know this is purely wrong to do but as i don't have £420 at the mo, i'm out of options and need a car for my part-time work commitments.

Has anyone tried this and got away with it? Should i just be honest and do without a car for a while?

Just to for a bit of background my electrical gremlins which started when some twonk smashed my back lights and they shorted out, since then it seems to have had a cascade effect on all electrics. Alfas are fooking useless cars!
