Frying the leftovers of a Sunday Roast
As theres already a discussion on food etiquette I would like to discuss the following topic that is sometimes hotly debated in the Scott mansion.
My wife comes from a family where the Sunday Roast dinner was a focal point of their family life. She claims that the 2nd best meal to the Sunday Roast was the "Fried leftovers" of said sunday roast.
I'm not sure what was retained for the Monday evening meal but according to my wife what was not taken out of the serving bowls on a Sunday would be lumped together and then fried on the Monday - I'm not sure of the exact details of what this delicacy was served with - I suspect chips and tomato sauce.
Mine was not a traditional upbringing so these insights into the more accepted, nay sterotypical, lifestyle are a true revelation.

1) Chicken/turkey. Sandwiches in nice fresh bread. Some red currant jelly and bread sauce spread over. Or make soup if you are a real anorak.
2) Lamb. Mince and use as basis for shepherds pie.
3) Beef. Slice off thin slices and then sandwiches with dash of horseradish. Best of the lot.
4) Pork. Give to non-Jewish dog. Possibly sandwiches with cold apple sauce.
Do put remains of roast in fridge over night as chicken, for example, grows bugs at an alarming rate if kept warmish.
If there is quite a bit left over then you can just put on plate and re-heat in microwave. Keep back some gravy for this purpose and serve hot. Hint fry old roast potatoes as they will taste OK. I don't expect you should do this with poultry though.

Any meat left in my house would go onto butties for Monday.
If you were really lucky then any mash and cabbage that was left would be served fried with eggs and bacon on Monday night.... but that was like once a year.
These days, if I have left overs it tends to go in a curry or something similar.
