was in crete 3 weeks ago, take some factor 30+ the sun was very strong, think that area is nice but did'nt visit this time (but 9 years ago). are you going to hire a car? did notice petrol was about the same as here.

we did stay in the capsis hotel just above the beach at the right hand end, was'nt bad.

ps do a search on trip advisor should give the lowdown on whats about.

If you are interested in the history of the Island or some decent then I'd take some decent walking shoes - otherwise just bring everything for sun, sea and fun

When we were in Crete we had the opportunity to visit Santorini, its quite a boat trip but go if you have the chance.

Take a boat trip to Spinalonga Island if you like a bit of history.

Crete is probably one of the best holiday destinations I've been to. The discovery of an ants nest under the bed on the 2 last night wasn't great though!

How many can that hold?

Seriously though, it was a brilliant holiday. Great weather, really nice people and the standard of service where I stayed was very high. Was a nice relaxing break.

Just dont go to malia unless you want to get way too drunk, and score with some boozy blonde teen......

Been to crete twice, once with family when i was about 12, got dragged around the historical sights which were boring at the time but i imagine i'd quite appreciate it now, and i've also been on a scum 18-30 one to malia, which was loose .

Samarian Gorge walk is probably the best walk I've ever done and it's all downhill.

Such a beautiful place: The gorge of Samaria - a photo gallery
