I got a job!!!
After 2months of being part of the subculture, I now am back at work!
Really chuffed, it doesn't have the kudos of my last jobs and its half the pay i'm used too but i'm just excited to be doing anything until something more suited to my experience comes up.

Well done, I'm currently looking for work as my contract ends 2 weeks today, and know how laborious it Is to be looking at the moment. How anyone without a computer or Internet access gets a job these days is beyond me.

Well done mate
Sods law will dictate more offers will no doubt come along all at once. After getting the chance at Corus, and now all thid DJ'ing stuff, I'm a good example.
What will you be doing??

Any work is work at the moment.
KOT you should get contribution based JSA for 6 months anyway if you were full time employed regardless of any savings. I think it is only after 6 months it is means tested.

Well, if anyone is desperate for a job, the local rag had something advertised in the North East. Its for a Learn Direct trainee tutor (*sigh*). I think the job opportunity is summed up by the website applicants are invited to visit.......wait for it....... www.bad-jobs.com
And no, its not a spoof site

The biggest amount of lunacy i have had whilst trying to get a job is being over qualified. I always thought being a deputy manager of a shop would do good on my CV but infact has hindered me on quite a few job applications.

I know where your coming from, in June I went from a 50k annual to the £64 a week god it is a shock, luckily I have a job to start in Sept now but with a 30k drop, I am happy I will be working and can adjust until times get better.

I've just come off the 6 month contributions based and ghet jack **** now as my Mrs earns over £95 a week (thats what the government expect you to live on ).
One things for sure though, I'm looking forward to not having to mix with the druggies, pisshead and general pondlife anymore when I start officially in Sept.
Jamie's the same, you can tell

Not if you have £16,000+ worth of savings. Thats when you get fcuked about.

The bloke I spoke to at the job centre the other day actually told me to "lend" some of my savings to a family member or friend.

well done mate, it's tough out there. I interviewed a bunch of chaps two weeks ago and I was amazed at the resumes coming through, seems anyone of any calibre is after a job regardless of pay.
In the end gave it to a graduate out of uni 2 years but he is a level headed chap which is rare (as most uni grads are stuck little ****s who think quoting crap out of books makes em look smart).
