Question MTB question: disc brake pads.

My bike has Hope XC4 disc brakes all round. It's kept in a locked barn, the atmosphere inside can be damp, although not wet.

I've already swapped out everything that can be swapped, bolts, cables, split pins etc for either stainless or titanium. However, the disc brake pads, Hope's own, have once again rusted badly.

The first time they did, I removed them, cleaned off the rust and applied two coats of Hammerite black to all metal parts. I also replaced the steel split pins with stainless ones.

Today, I got the bike out again and lo and behold, the back brake was dragging badly. Investigation showed that the pads had rusted so badly that two of the bits of friction material had been forced off the backing plate by the rust behind them, and were catching badly.

I've effected a temporary repair by removing both, cleaning up and re-attaching with a thin smear of araldite. I put it all back together and applied the brakes, zip-tying the lever down to apply pressure during setting, and it SEEMS to be OK, but are there any decent pads out there that DON'T rust?
