Default Anyone inline skate?

Need advice for an adult beginner, please. Where to get good advice on skates and other kit. Where to skate. If lessons are a good idea or not necessary. That sort of stuff.

My advice would be dont, no adult can look dignified on skates, do you have a dislike of having an intact collar bone ?

It's not for me. It's not my sort of exercise.

Edit:
Although I do think Cesar Millan looks like he has a lot of fun on his skates, (not that his are inline, but still, it looks like a laugh).

If you can ice skate then inline skating should be rather easy. It's all about balance, which I do not have, hence the reason why I can't skate, be it on wheels or ice. There is also a very long way for me to fall, and ample padding aside (it's the bread in the hamburgers over here ) I have visions, well, hearings more like of bones crunching as I examine the pavement in very close detail, which isn't really a perspective of the world I wish to have.

Not that it's relevant to me anyway, but I've never ice skated. I roller skated a bit as a kid, but I've also done a fair bit of horse riding and martial arts so my balance should be reasonable. Is there such a thing as balance memory, like for muscle memory? That is, if you've had good balance once but stopped doing the thing that developed the balance, do you lose it, and would it come back again faster than someone who'd never developed good balance would acquire it?

And what am I blathering about? Go to bed woman, it's nearly 0330 ffs.

Ice skating is a different kettle of fish, its easier to stop on ice funnily enough, try the same maneuver on tarmac, and you'll more likley than not go ar8e over tit lol
