Default Spanish Taxi's

How much is an average taxi ride in spain now ??? Say 2 miles?? I'm off to spain in 3 weeks and I'm wondering if I should just hire a car to take me from the airport. I'm not too sure how far the airport is from Benidorm so if anyone has any ideas on what a taxi would cost for this journey ???

Alicante to Benidorm is a good hike Steve.

IIRC it was about half an hour drive when we hired a car there.

58kms according to google earth

You will have a great deal of difficulty arranging a rental car in spain, especially at 3 weeks notice. The credit crunch has affected spain badly, and lending is virtually dead meaning rental companies have been unable to replace cars in their fleet at the end of their lease. There is therefore a big shortage of rental cars in spain and some other parts of europe right now, especially during peak season.

Roughly 10 km/6 miles will cost you 15 euros in Ibiza, as previously mentioned rates will go up depending on area time etc. but not more than 3 euros/10 km. Ibiza is officially the most expensive place to live in the whole of Spain so Id be very suprised if rates were higher for where you're going.

Make sure the taxi has SP displayed in the front and back of the car as there are many rogues...bad news.
