Default all inclusive holidays

Has anyone done an all inclusive holiday in spain ??? I have done them in Egypt and the caribean and they were OK. Spain doesn't seem to have the huge complex hotels like the other places I have mentioned so I'm not sure how they will compare??

I had a REALLY crap week in spain 2 years ago, would NEVER go back, food was blody awfull, locals were rude and aggressive, and generally we hated every min of the holiday!.

Turkey was MUCH better!

I did one about five years ago in Spain. It was four stars, think tinned Hamburgers and **** wine. If your going to do AI go to Mexico or the Caribean.

Pmsl I have checked loads of hotels on trip avisor and when we check them all for sdpain they say "keep away" even the 4 star hotels. Due to go on holiday in 3 weeks but I haven't booked anything yet as I have to book very last minute due to work commitments. I don't know wether to book all inclusive or just save my cash and book the self catering? Its only a £200 extra for 3 but that money could be better spent on nice food and drink in the bars and restaurants

We did it in Tenerife a couple of years ago, it was ok, it was only a 3 star hotel and it was a lads holiday, so all we were bothered about was the booze, and we got our moneys worth, the food was fresh and good though it was very similar every day if you know what i mean

Just came back from an AI in Tenerife, it was actually good, food did get repetitive, but it was good food so no complaints.

I've also done AI in Tenerife.
Can't complain about food or drink, however one point.
After AI finishes you can tell the difference in the drink even though you've probably had enough by then.

The only thing I would say about all inclusive is that it rarely means ALL inclusive. For example, if your resort says alcohol included, what they often mean is "cheap alchohol included, i.e. no cocktails" If they say activities included, check the small print for what ones incur an additional charge. If they say food included, check to see if this only applies if you eat in designated restaurants. More often than not, none of the above will matter a jot, but forewarned is forearmed!
