Thumbs up Recession All Over ....

.... if it ever actually happened!

Confidence among business professionals has surged, suggesting the recession is at an end, a survey has said.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants' index of business confidence rose to 4.8 at the end of June, from -28.2 in March, the biggest rise for two years.

The first sign for me that the recession is officially over is when i`m no longer paying a bargain price of £5 for a blow job, the local prostitutes round our way have been hit hard in recent times..... Actually maybe that should have said they are not getting hit as hard as usual

I`ll report back when its £15 again for my usual, that will confirm the recession is well and truely over when the rates go back up.

Great. I wonder why work has completely petered out for me and I've barely done a day for the last three weeks, then.

I reckon we should lend our selves another 200 billion

- then we'd be positively rolling in it

Just had some figures back this afternoon and we are "up" 4% so far this year compared with last, although it was about this time last year that it all went drastically **** up, ending with being 24% down by the end of the year!, it will be intresting to see how the rest of the year pans out.

We have noticed a small increase in trade, nothing major, but at least it does not feel like it is spiralling downwards any more, it will probably crash again when the VAT goes up

It's a false economy (pardon the pun) with good intentions.

The idea is to drum up enouh good news that it kick starts the economy into automation but we all know it's too far gone for this to happen.

There is very little confidence left amongst businesses and their consumers so you end up with a catch 22 where the fat ishts in goverment go about their 2nd-home-milk-the-punters routine while we get taxed to ****.

A few analysts and economists have already warned that any gains now will be blown to bits if the public starts getting robbed by the goverment.

I can tell you it is all over - until maybe next June .... after the election it could change, depends if the Tories can maintain the feel good feeling we are all now experiencing.

The stock market has been soaring recently. I noticed that the Daily Mail is telling people about that today, but warning it won't last, and that the struggle will return. Things would be better if they didn't bother reporting...or only reported good news.

Good to see flightman, dpd, finalzero etc can see the reality through the smoke screen of bail-out money and attempts by governments to talk-up confidence!

12 months after the economy fell off a cliff its always going to get easier to spin the stats, as you could say there is slight growth compared to a year earlier, but it's still down hugely compared to 13 months earlier for example.

The bottom line is that nothing has really changed - the current economic model basically isn't sustainable, so it's a case of either just kid ourselves it is and keep borrowing (which seems to be happening..), but reality is going to kick back in again sooner or later.

It may well take that long for every one of us to pay back the debt NL has saddled us with.

The UK is currently at its barclaycard limit without the real means to repay.

Printy printy of money to fake the economy can't last too much longer.

The TaxPayer will clean up quite nicely on the back of the share price rise.

Also, the USA has been in hock for many decades .... borrowing to improve oneself is the cornerstone of the western world ...

I think you know he won't.

Anyone who thinks this is over is deluding themselves. BoE can't keep printing or we're heading down the Weimar/Zimbabwe route. I'm afraid thee is a lot more pain to cone and the Govt isn't helping. One example close to my heart, aviation. Airlines are struggling like never before. How does the Govt help? A 120% increase in APD coming your way shortly. So force families to hop across to Schipol and Frankfurt for their longhaul flights and therefore avoid APD, and say bye bye to British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
