must have em bocked by adblock or hosts file. It's sometimes an option in your settings too

Have you got the option selected?
Go to "User cp"
Click on "Edit options" on the left hand side
Then select "Show Avatars"

You cant see them because you put the wrong rule in when you addblocked an advert?
I blocked them myself
